Maschmeyer Concrete completed one of its largest mat pours to date in the company’s 31-year history. The pour consisted of more than 5,500 cubic yards of concrete and took place at the Dr. Phillip’s Performing Arts Center in Orlando, FL. A feat of this magnitude is something to be proud of and we applaud the men and women of Maschmeyer Concrete who assisted in its safe and successful execution.
![]() Congratulations to the Technical Services team at #MaschmeyerConcrete for being honored by the NRMCA for Excellence in Quality 2018. The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s Producer Excellence in Quality Award recognizes the commitment to quality initiatives of ready mixed concrete producer members. A significant barrier to performance specifications for concrete, determined in the P2P Initiative, has been the qualification level of a concrete producer. This award provides a basis to recognize those that strive for continuous improvement through their quality initiatives. It provides reasonable goals for those concrete producers interested in elevating their own quality management systems. The criteria for this award are based on the guideline to develop a Quality Plan in Quality Management Systems for Ready Mixed Concrete Companies. Not only is Hank Libby 90 years old and working full-time, five-and-a-half days a week, but he’s worked at the same company for 65 years.
Go to Maschmeyer Concrete and you’ll see him fixing forklifts or whatever heavy machinery needs attention. Until a few years ago, you could see him climbing on top of 62-foot-tall silos to fix things. “Finally I told Hank, ‘you probably shouldn’t climb anymore,’ ” said company president Troy Maschmeyer Jr., whose father hired Hank five years before Troy was born. Libby, a Korean War veteran, hails from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. His grandfather owned sawmills and farms and Hank’s father also was a farmer, in Sault Ste. Marie, on the Canadian border. Troy’s father, Troy Maschmeyer Sr., was a builder in that area. Sr. came looking for equipment at a company where Libby worked and was impressed with the young man’s knowledge of machinery. As the story goes, Maschmeyer offered Libby a job, but Libby replied, ’Sir, as long as this man I work for has a job for me, I’m loyal and I’m going to work for him.” Read more: https://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/hard-and-fast-friendship-hank-libby-years-concrete-company/FR171VYCn0l6M22O4NhuBJ/ ![]() Concrete provides a solid foundation for modern life, according to a Treasure Coast expert on building materials. “Our society could not exist without concrete,” said Troy W.
